Anaco Market

I go to the Anaco Market every Saturday morning to get my fruit, vegetables, eggs, and cheese.  (I'm still too scared to touch the meat...NASTY!!!) I love going to the market, it's always quite an adventure and has the best people watching!!!

This is Frank. I always go to his stand to buy my fruits and veggies. He always finds the best selection and gives me the best prices. Sometimes when I get home I noticed that he snuck in a few extra oranges or apples as a little surprise.  He is so sweet!

Me with all the boys at Frank's stand!

You can even pick out your own chicken...but for some reason I don't think they're meant to be pets.

When you pick one out, this nice man will weigh it for you and he will even kill it right in front of you.

For a real treat, you can pick out your very own pig head!

My favorite part is watching people fight through the flies on a 95 degree day to pick out their own piece of raw chicken...needless to say, I haven't gotten up the stomach to get one for myself.

Going to the market reminds me that I really DO live in a 3rd world country!
